YOUNG is the official school service of UN City Copenhagen, founded in 2017.

We provide free educational visits and host events that introduce primary and secondary school students to the United Nations’ work and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Our mission is to ignite a passion for global citizenship in children and young people by combining learning about the UN with hands-on activities and age-appropriate workshops.

What we offer

  • Free guided visits at UN City Copenhagen tailored for elementary school (ages 7-16) and all upper secondary students (ages 16+)

  • A selection of structured themes that use age-appropriate exercises, simulations, role-playing and collaborative projects to deepen understanding of global issues, such as:

    • Introduction to the UN & SDGs

    • Climate Equality

    • Peace & Security

  • Outreach teaching, with our consultants regularly travelling to schools, libraries and youth events across Denmark to bring our programmes wherever you are.

Our Approach

At YOUNG, we believe that interactive and participatory learning helps students engage deeply with complex topics.

Our team brings academic backgrounds in fields like biology, human physiology, international communication, climate policy, social sciences, and rhetoric. This diverse expertise allows us to make global challenges accessible, relevant, and inspiring for all age groups — from playful learning in primary school to more nuanced debate and reflection at secondary level.
