UNDP (United Nations Development Programme)
As the UN’s largest development organisation, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and build resilience so countries can sustain progress.
UNDP works in 170 countries and territories and partners with all sectors of society to strengthen policies, leadership skills, partnerships, innovation and institutional capacity to help countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and set path to a sustainable future for people and planet.
UNDP in UN City
UN City hosts several of UNDP’s headquarter functions, which serve UNDP and other UN organisations worldwide.
There are approximately 160 UNDP staff located in Copenhagen, working in four departments: Human Resources, Procurement, Information Management and Technology and a Nordic Representation Office.
The latter serves as a liaison office between UNDP’s headquarters in New York and its Nordic member states, and as a communications office to raise awareness and promote informed debates about global development challenges and solutions to overcome these. UNDP also hosts the UN City Common Services and management of the UN City building.
