On October 13, UN City welcomes the public on Culture Night 2017. This year you can experience several activities in our green and platinum LEED certified building.
The program is as follows:
18.00-22.00: The Journey to the Global Goals
With a plane ticket in hand, the participants will visit different regions of the world located around the UN City lobby and learn about the progress on the SDGs in these regions. The participants are asked to guess which regions they have arrived to, based on interesting facts about these regions.
18.00-22.00: Become #UNCity4Schools Global Goals Ambassador!
#UNCity4Schools invites all children and their parents to learn about the Global Goals through creative activities and games. Can you move a suitcase with an entire school in it? Or carry water on your head?
In our creative corner you can make your own Global Goal or create your own Global Goal super hero. Before the end of the night you can call yourself #UNCity4Schools Global Goal Ambassador, take a selfie and share your wish or hope for the future on our Global Goal tree.
18.00-22.00: Get an insight into life in a refugee camp
Experience how the arrival to and life in a refugee camp can look like with the UN agencies.
Guests can visit a refugee tent and experience the registration procedure similar to what a refugee will go through at a refugee camp. Via Virtual Reality goggles visitors can also experience life in the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan through the eyes of 12-year-old Syrian girl Sidra.
18.00-22.00: Exhibition of “Solutions” graduation project
This year’s graduation projects from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (KADK) have incorporated the Sustainable Development Goals. At UN City, visitors can experience the projects and get a glimpse of how the new generation of architects will integrate sustainability into their designs.
18.00-22.00: Exhibition of Design students’ exam projects
Design students from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (KADK) have incorporated the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their exam projects.
