Copenhagen 7 June 2016 – For more than 25 years UNEP DTU PARTNERSHIP (UDP) has worked to support a global transition towards low carbon and climate resilient sustainable development. From its beginnings, UDP has developed into a major global player in the overlapping fields of energy, environment, sustainable development and climate change, based on a tripate agreement between United Nations Environment Programme, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Technical University of Denmark.
Today UDP provides support to activities on low carbon, energy efficient and resilient development in more than 50 developing countries in collaboration with a vast network of national, regional and international institutions and donors. UNEP-DTU Partnership comprise a team of over 70 Scientist and economists from more than 20 countries.
Through its office in UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark, UPD support and promote UNEP’s energy and climate change activities and in collaboration with countries, donors and institutional partners facilitate knowledge and capacity building for a low carbon climate resilient sustainable development
UDP are organized in four programmes:
- Cleaner energy development
- The Low Carbon Development
- Climate resilient development
- Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency
