H.R.H. Princess Benedikte visits UN City and the UNICEF warehouse

6 March 2019 – Danish Princess Benedikte was welcomed by Executive Director of UNOPS and UN Under-Secretary-General, Grete Faremo, when she arrived at UN City Tuesday morning March 5. The main purpose of the visit was to give the Princess an insight into the 11 UN agencies located in UN City and the work being carried out at the UNICEF warehouse in Copenhagen.

In UN City, H.R.H. Princess Benedikte met with heads of the UN agencies to discuss their work, health-related activities, gender equality and The Sustainable Development Goals. The visit also included a tour of the building guided by Camilla Brückner, director of UNDPs Nordic Office, and Lars Peter Schaumburg-Levy, head of the UN City Communications Office.

At the UNICEF warehouse, the Princess was welcomed by Director of UNICEF Supply Division Etleva Kadilli. During the visit, H.R.H. Princess Benedikte was introduced to some of the essential supplies for children that are send out every day from the warehouse such as medical care, school materials and hygiene kit. The UNICEF warehouse in Copenhagen is the largest humanitarian warehouse in the world.
