SUMMARY:docUNight: Mediha
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the screening of the documentary film ‘Mediha’\,  which sheds light on the atrocities faced by the Yazidi community\, where men are executed\, women are sold into slavery\, and children are indoctrinated into the Islamic State. \nOn 3 August 2014\, Islamic State (IS) militants attacked and took over Sinjar in Northern Iraq\, a Kurdish-controlled area that was predominantly inhabited by Yazidis\, initiating the genocidal campaign against the Yazidis and other religious minorities. \nIn commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the tragic event\, join IOM Denmark\, in collaboration with the Êzidi Cultural Association in Denmark\, Mission East\, and the Central Council of Yazidis in Germany (ZED) for a screening of the documentary film ‘Mediha’ – a candid glimpse into the life of a 15-year-old Iraqi girl who navigates various challenges after being rescued from ISIL captivity.
