UNDP and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs invite you to the Danish launch of the UNDP Human Development Report 2016, which will be presented by Jens Wandel, Assistant UN Secretary-General/Assisting UNDP Administrator, followed by reflections from Martin Bille Hermann, State Secretary for Development Policy, Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and by Soraya Ramoul, Director at Novo Nordisk.
In the past decades, there has been unparalleled human development progress; but millions have not benefitted from these gains. Who has been left behind and why? The 2016 Human Development Report looks into these two questions.
The report analyses why certain groups tend to be more disadvantaged and identifies persistent barriers to achieving sustainable human development for all. The report also explores what societies could do to advance human development for everyone. It sets forward policy recommendations at the national level and looks at ways in which the global development landscape – particularly the multilateral system – could be made more effective in the fight to leave no one behind.
The event will take place on Tuesday 21 March 2017, 2:30 – 4:15 p.m.
